Overview
As the nations from all parts of the globe converge in South Africa
to experience one of
the most popular international events, the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the
excitement is growing
and we must ensure that the sport facilities will realise our
African World Cup dream.
The World Cup has been a catalyst and key driver for the
refurbishing and development of
stadiums and sport facilities to comply with world class standards
for the hosting of the
largest international event that will take place on the African
continent.
While millions is being spent on the infrastructure, there has to be
a strong emphasis on the
managing and maintenance of these facilities which will be showcased
to the world. It means
that we will be positioned to host top class international events
after 2010 and therefore we
must ensure that we have specialised expertise to ensure that these
facilities provide lasting
benefits and continues to create value beyond 2010.
Facilities Management requires a multi-disciplinary approach with
experience that includes
amongst others; property management, maintenance, utilities
management, information and
communication technology.
